Welcome to the Zone III Website!

Zone III of the Garden Club of America is made up of 22 garden clubs, all of which are located within New York State. (Map of Zone III Clubs) The garden clubs range in size from 39 to 160 members. Two of the Zone III clubs, Bedford Garden Club and the Garden Club of Orange and Dutchess Counties were founding members of the Garden Club of America in 1913. The last club to become a GCA member was the Syracuse Garden Club in 1975.

New York State covers an area of more than 49,000 square miles, stretching from the Atlantic Ocean to the shores of Lake Erie and from the Southern shore of Long Island to the US/Canadian border. For those of us in Zone III, our geography, climates and growing zones vary greatly but we are all committed to the purpose of The Garden Club of America...

…"to stimulate the knowledge and love of gardening, to share the advantages of association by means of educational meetings, conferences, correspondence and publications, and to restore, improve, and protect the quality of the environment through educational programs and action in the fields of conservation and civic improvement."

We hope that the Zone III website will offer a glimpse at what's happening in and around our zone including updates from our Zone III representatives, news of what our 22 clubs are doing, a calendar listing of meetings, events, and fundraisers, and a look at recent Zone and GCA Meetings. Enjoy the website and please send along any news, corrections and/or ideas to Nan Berger at: nailbe@aol.com.
